Clashes Between People and IRGC, Strikes and Protests Across Iran

Iran Uprising - No. 145

On Tuesday night, April 24, the people of Marivan in the Kurdistan province clashed with the criminal Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). The clash took place when Pasdar-Colonel (IRGC colonel) Kaveh Kohneh-Poushi along with another Pasdar, Latif Nikpay, murdered an inhabitant from one of the villages of Marivan. The people burnt down the houses of the two criminals in protest of this crime.

Regime's Authorities Acknowledge the Catastrophic Economic Crisis in the Country and Their Fear of Explosion of People's Anger

Concerns about the severity of the deadly economic crises and the fear of a storm that will destroy the integrity of the regime can be seen in many statements by regime officials at various levels, as well as Majlis representatives and government media these days. While revealing the betrayals and plunders of the rival gang, each faction blames and threatens the other.

Iran: 19 Executions in One Week

Iranian regime sent 19 prisoners to the gallows in cities of Gohardasht, Urmia, Hamedan,Tabriz, Kermanshah and Ilam prisons. Eight of the executed were hanged collectively in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj on April 18th.

On the same day, Bahman Varmazyar, a young prisoner who was a sports coach, was executed in Hamadan Prison. A day before, a prisoner was executed in Tabriz's central prison.

Iran: One Week Passed Over the Strikes in Border Provinces

Iran Uprising - No. 144

On Saturday, April 21, the strike of merchants and shopkeepers in the provinces of Kurdistan, Kermanshah and West Azarbaijan continued for the seventh consecutive day. The merchants of Sar-e-Pol-e Zahab and Mahabad also had joined the protest on Friday. Meanwhile, repressive forces have arrested a number of strikers in recent days to prevent the spread of these protests.

Terrorist Plots Against NCRI and PMOI Centers Abroad

On Thursday, April 19, in response to a question about terrorist threats against the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) in his country, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said: “I believe that, for MEK we did the right thing. We gave accommodation to a group which is persecuted. And that's it. Regarding your question about security and threats, we are on the right side of history, we are in a group of countries of the Euro Atlantic club which are threatened in the same way. I believe that all these countries take measures against terrorist threats.” (Vizion Plus television, April 19, 2018)
