The war on the airwaves continues in Iran

NCRI – As the regime is facing increasing criticism and bringing itself into international isolation, the mullahs have stepped up their efforts to deprive the population of all sources of information.

While it has ordered the suspension of high-speed internet in the country, the fundamentalist dictatorship continues to hunt down satellite dishes which are bringing the popular programs of the Resistance’s television channel to people’s homes.

In the province of Yazd, central Iran, the security forces have launched raids on hundreds of homes to confiscate satellite dishes and their equipments.

Nabiollah Heydari, commander of State Security Forces in the province, said to the state-run news agency Fars on October 22, “This is a preventive operation against social problems in the entire province. This operation allowed us to seize 400 satellite receivers”.

The raids, launched regularly, have intensified recently. They reveal the extent of the popularity of the programs broadcast from abroad by the Resistance, and the amount of concern they are causing for the regime.
