They declared that aggressive demands such as the extradition of Camp Ashraf residents is a clear interference in the internal affairs of Iraq, and national and democratic forces of Iraq will not allow the Iranian regime to achieve this goal.
National Council of Iraqi Tribes in Diyala Province:
“We, the members of National Council of Iraqi Tribes in Diayla province, strongly condemn meddling of Ali Larijani in the internal affairs of Iraq, particularly his demand for extradition of the members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in violation of all humanitarian principles and international commitments.”
National Council of Iraqi Tribes:
“We, the Council of Baghdad’s Tribal Sheikhs, along with Iraqi people and distinguished parliamentarians, strongly condemn Larijani’s visit which is aimed at none other than more meddling in Iraq affairs and conspiracy against the PMOI."
Association of Democratic and Independent Tribes:
Larijani’s illegitimate remarks about the extradition of the PMOI to Iran are stated in spite of the fact that any forceful displacement of a population from a region to another is considered crime against humanity."
Our response to Larijani and the Iranian regime is: “Hands off Iraq and stop interfering in our internal affairs.”
Association of Lawyers of Northern Iraq:
“They [the Iranian regime], in order to cover up their internal crises, have not spared any crime against the Iraqi people for years. Larijani’s shameful remarks on the residents of Camp Ashraf and his demand of their expulsion and extradition are an obvious example of such crime.”
