Iran: Smuggling goods causing widespread unemployment

NCRI – According to the state news agency Mehr, a member of the Supreme Social Council in Iran acknowledged that each billion dollars of goods smuggled into the country leads to the loss of 50 to 60.000 jobs.

The above official confirmed that every year, some 5 billion dollars are smuggled into the country leading to 350.000 job loss. However, experts think that smuggled goods are far greater than 5 billion dollars.
