Iran: Rising popular discontent

Protests in Iran NCRI – More than 550 demonstrations, rallies and acts of protest throughout Iran were recorded during the last month. According to figures, anti-government rallies in Iran grew by 74% in the period of November 11 to December 10.

The above figures are based on information gathered by the Iranian Resistance’s headquarters for activities inside Iran through its network in the country and the regime’s own official reports.
These activities took place in Tehran, Qom, Kashan, Shiraz, Isfahan, Rasht, Kerman, Kermanshah, Sanandaj, Saveh, Ardebil, Ahwaz, Zanjan, Boushehr, Yazd, and two dozen other cities across Iran.
The above figure includes more than 200 student protest moves and some 60 Labor protests on one month.
The rise in protests against the clerical regime is due to its incompetence to meet with the nation’s basic demands and lack of social services.
These protest moves continue to rise despite severe repression. Many activists have been arrested in the course of these moves and the fate of many are still unknown.
