Ruhollah Hosseinian, a Majlis deputy from Tehran was referring to the unprecedented mudslinging during the regime’s presidential candidate TV debates, in which they revealed a portion of state secrets and exposed some of the regime’s thefts and crimes.

Hosseinian said the consequence of Ahmadinejad’s revelations about his rivals was the sidelining of those who greedily awaited to wear the supreme leader’s robe, a veiled reference to former mullahs’ president and subject of much of the recent revelations by Ahmadinejad, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. He added that Ahmadinejad destroyed these dreams at least for another two decades.

Hosseinian also added: I believe that just as [Khomeini] dubbed the take over of the spy nest [American embassy] as the second revolution, Ahmadinejad’s move can also lead to an internal revolution. Of course, I am not of the view that today’s feud is a feud among two or several individuals. I stress that today’s feud is not among individuals. It is a fight between two movements, one of which attacked religious values for eight years.

Asked whether the quarrel would cause rifts and divisions among internal forces, Hosseinian responded: Obviously, as with any surgery, there will be aches and fevers.
