Financial corruption in Iran

NCRI – An Iranian state-run website has revealed several cases of financial corruption in Iran. " The destiny of 68 billion Toomans [73 million USD] from the country’s Cooperation Fund is unknown," wrote Mohsen Rezaii, former Revolutionary Guards Corps commander and the current secretary of the Expediency Council in Baztab website on May 14,2007.

"Moreover, some people in Mazandaran province have received 170 billion Tomans [183 million USD] under the guise of a cooperation council from the province’s Cooperation Fund," he said.

Rezaii added: "This is similar to what some highly influenced authorities have done in Zanjan province. They have received 190 million Tomans [200,000 USD] in loans and refuse to pay it back. No action has been taken against them. There are no valid documents for more than 60 billion Tomans [64 million USD] for pending government credits."
