Appalling state of quake victims in western Iran

NCRI – The state-run daily Hambastegi reported yesterday that people in quake stricken zone in western Iran are going through most difficult time. People are scared of staying indoors at nights for possible further tremor and they spend their nights in could weather without any shelter. There is a lack of bread and people have to wait in long queues outside bakeries in neighboring towns and villages. In the absence of medical aid and medicine, people are trying to make their ways to neighboring major cities.

The state daily exposed the regime’s contradictory remarks on the situation in the quake zone and wrote: "The deputy head of the Center for Accidents and Unexpected Incidents said that water and electricity is supplied to most places in the area while many places have no electricity due to unstable bases of power cable posts and consequently water supply is also cut off."  

People are extremely angry with the way the regime has distributed the tents and are forced to buy their own tents from dealers.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance called on the nation last week to organize independent aid campaign to help quake victims.
