Iran: Female Futsal Player Eliminated From Team for Violating Hijab Regulations

1-36

NCRI – The misogynist Iranian regime has eliminated a national women’s futsal team member for failing to abide by hijab regulations.
Shiva Amini took to her Instagram page to write this about her banning:

“For our officials, it is not important to bring home a medal of honor for Iran. Hijab is more important for them than women’s sports and this is painful. Is the hijab rule mandatory outside of the country that I have to obey it?”

She says her elimination comes after images of her head without a scarf were posted on the web.

“Through silence and patience we tolerate the hijab, as if we have been mummified, so that we can play and bring home a medal. Time and again, we tell ourselves it is not important,” she added.

“I tried to make a phone call to the women’s federation. However, they just stab you in the back and say such things cannot be resolved through private matters. They said once you are a national player, you have to wear hijab even on your personal page and in private. This is ruthless,” she said.

Iran’s football federation issued a statement claiming Ms. Amini was never part of the national futsal team from 2010 onward.

In response, Ms. Amini has said she will publish all her dialogue files with the federation to show behind the scenes and expose what is important to them and what pressures do exist.
