Iranians worldwide to join the online summit from 10,000 locations

On the eve of the annual session of the United Nations General Assembly, bipartisan U.S. lawmakers from both chambers, and former senior officials from both sides of the Atlantic will join Iranians worldwide who will join from 10,000 locations to discuss the Iranian regime’s repressive measures at home, its threats to the Middle East and to the rest of the world, and set forth the proper policy to effectively challenge Tehran’s aggressive behavior.
The summit will be held amidst major global debate on policy on Iran, including the reimposition of six previous United Nations Security Council resolutions on the Iranian regime, due to go into effect starting September 19th.
Several United States Senators and House Members will speak during the online summit.
Participants will call for justice of 30,000 political prisoners massacred in Iran, primarily activists of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) murdered in 1988. They call for an end to the impunity of the regime’s leaders who oversaw the massacre and will urge the world to hold them accountable.
The participants call for international intervention to stop the new wave of executions of, and the death sentences for, activists who took part in the anti-regime protests, in particular in November 2019. Most recently, the cruel execution of the decorated Iranian wrestler Navid Afkari drew worldwide condemnation.
