NCRI – In an interview with Arabic TV news network, Al-Arabiya, on Sunday, Lebanese Druze leader, Walid Jumblatt, said that Lebanon had become a proxy battleground for Iran in its resistance to US-led pressure on its nuclear program.
"The war is no longer Lebanon’s … it is an Iranian war,"Walid Jumblatt said, adding: "Iran is telling the United States: You want to fight me in the Gulf and destroy my nuclear program? I will hit you at home, in Israel."
Jumblatt reiterated that "Lebanon has become the battlefield" for Iran’s nuclear stand-off with the West.
Commenting on the current crisis, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said on Sunday, "Through export of crisis and fanning the fires of conflict in the Middle East, the mullahs seek to overshadow their nuclear program and schemes to devour Iraq."
"The current situation is the outcome of two decades of the Western appeasement of the mullahs and turning a blind eye to the mullahs’ export of terrorism, fundamentalism and the suppression of the Iranian nation. Such a policy must no longer continue," Mrs. Rajavi stressed.
