NCRI – A US military official in Iraq said on Saturday that there is still American anxiety over the Iranian regime’s interference in Iraq. The Deputy Commander of US Central Iraq Division, Ralph Baker, made the comments at a press conference.
He was quoted by al-Sharqiya TV as saying, “The Iranian regime’s interference is clearly seen through attacks by militias tied to this regime on the Green Zone in Baghdad, especially the recent ones that took place during a visit by US Vice President Joe Biden.”
General Baker also said that the Iranian regime continues to train and arm special groups with the intention of targeting not only American and Iraqi forces but also innocent Iraqi citizens.
He added that the Iranian regime continues to train, arm and guide militias that perpetrate such acts, because these kinds of operations only benefit Tehran. The regime wants a weak Iraq that it can easily control, General Baker was quoted as saying.
