Wall Street Journal reported that a US federal judge ruled on Wednesday August 10, that a terrorism Victims Group owed hundreds of millions of dollars from Iran, can garnish Sprint Nextel Corp. and seize the money that Nextel owes to a state-owned Iranian telecommunication company.
Judge Royce Lamberth said that he believes this ruling is “renewed hope for long-suffering victims of state-sponsored terrorism.”
Wall Street Journal added: In 2009, Judge Lamberth ruled that the (bombing) victims and their families were entitled to receive approximately $600 Million US dollars compensation from the Iranian regime. His investigation indicated that senior Iranian officials planned the bombing and supported Hizbullah to implement it.
