Undercover Iranian agents in Iraq

Undercover Iranian agents in IraqNCRI – The Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Seyassah reported on the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq in its September 2 issue by quoting informed Iraqi sources and wrote, “There are 3,000 Iranian Intelligence Ministry’s agents in the holly city of Karbala posing as scholars studying in seminaries.”

Under the cover of gifts to the holly shrines in the city, large quantities of arms and ammunitions are dispatched from Iran which are handled by the Iranian agents.

According to the daily, during the recent violent clashes in Karbala which led to over 60 deaths and some 300 injuries, the regime’s undercover agents were directly involved.

Reporting on growing resentment among Iraqis and in particular the Shiites against the regime’s meddling in their country, Al-Seyassah also wrote, “Setting fire to offices of the Supreme Council of Islamic Revolution in Iraq and the Iraqi Hizboldawa by Iraqi Shiite youth are clear indications of their opposition to the domination of sectarian parties backed by Iran. These are groups which are offering greatest challenges to Iraq’s stability.”
