The names of 28 Iranians were either not revealed or cut short while the pro-government dailies were reporting about the names of the people who were allegedly wiretapped as part of the probe into a ‘terror’ group in Turkey, Today’s Zaman reported.
The 28 Iranians among the 251 suspects in the Tawhid-Salam who were allegedly wiretapped as part of the probe into Tawhid-Salam.
“The investigation file also revealed the names of the Iranian suspects as Ali Hassan Salami, Ali Kıasat Far, Ali Mahdi Nejad Mamaghani, Amir Moradian, Esmaiel Sabeghi, Fatemeh Rezaei,Gholam Reza, Habibullah Haydari, Hamed Habibi Hafzabad, Hamid Nosrati, Hassan Harajı Ghotlou, Hossein Moghtaderi, İraj Najafi, Mehdi Sasany, Aghdam, Muhammed Mehti Atam, Naser Nurani, Naser Ghafari, Rahim Bazdar, Rahime Bazdar Selman, Rasoul Abdoullahi, Savara, Sayed Ali Ekber Mirvakili, Seyed Asghar Seyedtorabi, Siamak Mazloumravasan and Walit Hasan Radwan,” the Turkish daily said.
“According to a report compiled from a three-year-long probe conducted by police investigators, Tawhid-Salam has allegedly been operating through four independent cells, all of which are directed by Iranian intelligence operatives who report to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).”
Former İstanbul Police Department intelligence bureau chief Ali Fuat Yılmazer said in march Iran-linked Tawhid-Salam is “the stealthiest and the most dangerous terrorist organization of recent times” Turkey has ever faced.
Former intelligence chief said this organization was responsible for the assassination of several journalists and academics in the 1990s, including Uğur Mumcu, Bahriye Üçok, Ahmet Taner Kışlalı and several other intellectuals.
The organization is also noted for killing Iranian dissidents who took refuge in Turkey.
