The Iranian regime’s terrorist infiltration in Iraq is horrifying – Kuwaiti daily

NCRI – Six years after the former Iraqi regime’s overthrow, Iraq has yet to embark on a path to rebuild its future, wrote Dawoud Basri of the Kuwaiti daily al-Seyassah in its Tuesday, April 14, 2009 issue.

The daily added: “There are well known forces in Iraq which function for the benefit of Iran. These forces are not worried about concealing this issue. They have granted the Iranian regime the opportunity to infiltrate in all of Iraq’s critical spheres … and wage internal conflicts.”

“The Iranian regime has gained hegemony in Iraq with considerable strength and logistic, financial, and military support,” Basri continued. He warned all freedom-loving Iraqis and Arabs about the deterioration of Iraq’s situation in the future as a result of the Iranian regime’s interference.

“All the available figures and statistics from Iraq demonstrate the facts mentioned above. The Iranians are waiting for the American forces to leave Iraq, hoping to fill the power vacuum. They are preparing for this. Their forces include 57,000 Iranian soldiers from the Qods Force, which is part of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), commanded by Brig. Gen. Abbas Nouri. There are also close 3,600 intelligence agents, 2,600 intelligence officers from Iran’s military intelligence division, in addition to 35,000 IRGC personnel, commanded by brigadier general Brig. Gen., in Iraq.”

Al-Seyyasah added that these individuals carry Iraqi identification cards and reside in Iraq. “Today Iraq is, so to speak, in the middle of a pair of pliers, and the question is whether Iranians will be successful in implementing their desired scenario. At any rate, Iraq is currently standing at the brink of being consumed by the flames.”
