Syrian regime’s downfall will spell new troubles for Iranian regime

NCRI – The French daily Le Figaro highlighted on Saturday the Iranian regime’s attempts to exploit the uprisings for freedom and democracy in the Middle East, writing, “After the wave of protests began against the Syrian regime, alarm bells sounded in the Iranian regime.”

The paper quoted an Iran expert as saying that the current protests against the Syrian regime, which is an ally of Tehran, has been troubling for the Iranian regime.

Figaro added that a downfall of the Bashar al-Assad regime will mean that the ruling mullahs in Iran can no longer supply Hezbollah with weapons through Syria.
