The report added that one of the commanders of the militias involved in Karbala is an Iranian national identified as Ali Shariat. He has personally overlooked the mortar fire on the holy shrine of Imam Hossein (Grand son of Prophet Mohammad and a Shiite leader) in the city. The news channel quoted Nouri al-Maliki as saying that the foreign countries behind the recent riots in Karbala had targeted the holy shrine.
