Senior Iran official admits it aim of controlling Iraq

NCRI – The Iranian regime has exposed its own aim of controlling Iraq by publicly vowing it will never return back to what it was “before 2003.”

The head of the Iranian regime’s Quds Force – responsible for exporting terrorism to other countries – made the admission this week in a report by state-run news agency Fars.

Brigadier General Qasem Suleimani said on April 15: “The US and countries in the region have paved 90 per cent of the way to return to Iraq of before 2003 through legal ways and the elections. However, they have been defeated in this mission.”

The remarks from a senior Iranian regime official are being seen by observers in Iraq as proof of Iran’s interference in Iraq, its government and internal affairs, Iraqi TV al-Taqeer reported.

The report said: “Suleimani is known as one of the key decision makers in Iran’s foreign policy, and has long been suspected by the Iraqi population of having clandestine control over their country.”
