Secret prison in southern Iraq controlled by agents of Iranian regime

Secret prison in southern Iraq controlled by agents of Iranian regimeNCRI – Saudi daily Aljazeera reported on Tuesday: "One of the prisons in Basra, where variety of physical and psychological tortures are used is run by the Iranian Intelligence Ministry."

"The prison belongs to the Iraqi Interior Ministry but its main operators are agents related to the Iranian Intelligence Ministry. Those who operated the prison use assumed Iraqi names and speak in Arabic but they have Iranian accent," revealed the Saudi daily.

Aljazeera also added: "The commander of the prison is Colonel Karim whose father, mother and wife are all Iranians. His wife and two children live in Iran. He is in regular contact with an Iranian Intelligence Ministry agent who previously commanded one of the special Iraqi military garrisons in Iran."

Seyed Ali Al-Hayani, an officer in charge of interrogation who also supervises torture on detainees has lived in Iran for 20 years and has joined Iranian Intelligence Organization and the special Qods Force. He is currently on the Qods Force pay roll.

Ghanem, a commander of the Badr Corps is in charge of research section at the Basra secret prison and was in Iran under the previous regime and received military training there.
