Obama’s Executive Order: Terrorist Qods Force slapped with new Sanctions for suppression of Syrian people

NCRI – According to Reports by Reuters and the White House web site on April 29, in an executive order, U.S. President Barak Obama imposed sanctions on the Qods Force of the Revolutionary Guards for assisting in the suppression of the Syrian people’s uprising.

The White house said in a statement: The conduit for the Iranian regime’s material support to the Syrian General Intelligence Directorate is the Revolutionary Guard’s Qods Force. Despite the Government of Iran’s public rhetoric claiming revolutionary solidarity with people throughout the region, Iran’s actions in support of the Syrian regime place it in stark opposition to the will of the Syrian people.

The Presidents Executive Order for sanctions includes Maher al-Assad, Bashar al-Assad’s brother and the commander of the Syrian Army’s 4th Armored Division, Atif Najib, one of Bashar’s cousins and former head of the Political Security Directorate for Deraa province, and Ali Mamluk, the director of the Syrian General Intelligence Directorate.

The Iranian revolutionary Guards had already been sanctioned by the United States for its support of terrorism, and this time specifically the Qods Force is being sanctioned by the U.S. government for participating in Syrian people’s suppression.
