New evidence on exporting of Iranian arms to Syria

NCRI – On Friday June 1st, Turkish newspaper, Hurieat revealed new detailed evidence about the weapons discovered in a Syria-bound train from Iran. The paper published documents on the train’s cargo, the names of sender and receiver of the weapons, announcements by Turkish Rail officials and Turkish military.

According to the evidence Iran had packed two of the cars of the Damascus-bound train with arms and weapons. The sender of the cargo was Bahman Shahriari from Trabinco Company in Tehran and the receiver was supposed to be someone named Aljouri who works for the same company in Damascus.

The paper obtained the sender’s and receiver’s phone numbers respectively in Tehran and Damascus and called both of them. Bahman Shahriari’s number in Tehran has been disconnected. We only hear women and children answering the phone when we call Aljouri’s number in Damascus. Both of these numbers were working when the train passed by Turkish custom a few days earlier.

Hurieat continued: based on article 6 of International Cargo law, the Iranian regime should have specified the list of items in the shipment. Carrying weapons in this train is a clear violation of international laws.

In recent days Turkish media reported that destination of weapons trafficking from Iran to Syria is the Lebanese Hezbollah.
Despite all the evidence, the Iranian regime is adamantly denying existence of weapons in the train.
In a news conference in Turkey, Parviz Fatah, Ahmadinejad’s Minister of Energy claimed that discovery of arms in the train is caused by those opposing good relationship between Turkey and Iran.
