Maryam Rajavi extends her condolences on the assassination of Mr.Mohammad Hossein Awadh, Iraqi MP

NCRI – Mr. Mohammad Hossein Awadh was killed in a terrorist bombing at the Iraqi parliament on Thursday, April 12, 2007.  Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, expressed her condolences to his family, people of Iraq and in particular to Dr. Saleh Matlak, President of the National Dialogue Front.

Mr. Awadh was a distinguished personality opposed to meddling by the Iranian regime in Iraq.

"Mohammad Hossein Awadh was a target of mullah’s terrorism because of his relentless and brave struggle against the meddling and criminal activities of the mullahs’ regime in Iraq, and because of his defense of the rights of the Iraqi people, the presence of Mojahedin in Iraq and their rights for political asylum as an essential foundation for democracy in Iraq," she stated.

"In the name of the Iranian people and the Iranian Resistance, I strongly condemn this savage crime which has no source other than the mullahs ruling Iran," she added.

"Now, the brother nation of Iraq is suffering from the waves of terrorism and savagery unleashed by Tehran. This demonstrates the heavy responsibility of all parties involved in Iraq not to delay the only solution to this tragedy, namely stopping the political and military meddling of the mullah’s regime in Iraq," she concluded.
