Iraqi tribal leaders in Baghdad and five other provinces in which anti-Maliki protests are continuing condemned the meetings of officials of Iraqi government of Nouri al-Maliki with Heydar Moslehi, the Iranian regime’s head of Ministry of Intelligence and Security and called for an end to meddling in the affairs of their country by Iranian regime.
Council of United Tribal Leaders in Iraq said in a statement: “Iranian minister Haydar Moslehi conduct has been that of an enemy of people of Iraq. Not him or any other Iranian official has the right anymore to meddle in the affairs of Iraq.”
The Iraqi tribal leaders said the Iranian regime’s minister has revealed his true face that he is truly enemy of people of Iraq by speaking against the Iraqi demonstrators.
The statement of tribal leaders broadcasted by Al-Sharqiya Iraqi TV on April 3 said: “We tell those Iraqi officials meeting with the Iranian official that meddling in the affair of Iraq is enough.”
“We tell anyone who has met with Moslehi in Baghdad and has listened to him to know that the day of their meeting with Heydar Moslehi in Iraq will be registered as a black day that is causing shame and disgrace.”
The Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki met with Heydar Moslehi, the head of Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) in Iraq capital on Tuesday evening.
The news outlets quoted Maliki as saying: “The Government [of Iraq] is after the ways to expel all the members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in near future because this group has been become an internal and a regional concern.”
In response to Maliki’s demand for expansion of mutual cooperation with the Iranian regime for “establishment of sustainable security and its promotion” Moslehi said: “Iran will provide its experiences on establishing stability and security expertise to the Government of Iraq.”
Iranian regime’s “stability and security expertise” is nothing more than stepping up torture, execution and assassination of opponents in Iraq and increasing suppressive measures against the PMOI. The execution of 30 political prisoners in Iraq in the days prior to Moslehi’s arrival is forestallment for such mutual cooperation.
