Iraqi police is involved in ‘ terrorist acts’, Diyala governor says

NCRI – The governor of Iraq’s Diyala Province has threatened to reveal the names Iraqi paramilitaries and police officials involved in criminal and terrorist acts in the region.

Omar al-Hamiri also accused elements in the government of supporting the subversion and allowing them to use state-owned vehicles and arms for carrying out their crimes.

He told Al-Taqeer TV on Saturday: “I believe that even the security institutions could not stop this because these paramilitaries are being supplied with government vehicles, arms and identification cards as members of the security organizations.

“So how could the security commanders arrest them? We call them the thieves inside the house. This is a great problem.

“However, I am sure that today the security institutions take defending the rights of the people in this province seriously and that they would defend people’s honor and I support that.

“However, I am warning that if I see any paramilitaries on the streets, I will reveal them and those supporting them. I will ensure they do not remain anonymous and we will reveal the names to the media.”

Al-Hamiri added: “I have information that I will disclose one day that several police forces and officers are engaged in terrorism and planned crimes in Diyala Province.

“I have previously spoken about this and I will write again to the Prime Minister. The clues and information that I have received show that security agents are also engaged in terrorism. The paramilitaries are here in Diyala Province and whoever denies this is lying. They choose a particular time to attack on the streets. They also carry arms without being prevented from doing so by the security organizations.”
