Iraqi MP decries Iranian regime meddling in Iraq

NCRI – A member of the Iraqi Parliament has expressed concern about the Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq, according to Aljazeera.

Ahmad al-Alwani of the Iraqiya list said, “Everyone knows about the extent of the Iranian regime’s influence in Iraq. Many Iraqis are concerned about the influence of militias tied to the regime who can cause problems or launch armed operations after the withdrawal of US forces.”

In an interview with Aljazeera, he talked about more Iranian regime meddling in Iraq following the withdrawal of US forces from the country, and said, “There have to be international agreements in place to safeguard Iraq from the Iranian regime’s meddling.”

“The Iranian regime should not commit further follies by sending militias and terrorists, car bombs and weapons equipped with silencers. The fire of such things will reach Iran itself.”

“There will come a day when God will hold the Iranian regime accountable for its crimes in Iraq,” he added.
