Iraqi groups call for recognition of PMOI rights in Iraq

NCRI – The Iraqi National Dialogue Front – Diyala Province, issued a statement saying that the attack on the Iraqi workers of Ashraf City happens after a recent campaign of intimidations and threats against the presence of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran in Iraq. This attack bears all the hallmarks of the terrorist operations planned and executed by the Iranian regime in Iraq to destabilize the country and foment sectarian strife. It also happens a day after the departure of the mullahs’ Foreign Minister from Iraq.

The Iraqi Tribal National Front – Diyala branch, also strongly condemned the terrorist attack against the bus carrying Iraqi workers to Ashraf city. It expressed heart-felt condolences to the People’s Mojahedin in Ashraf, the residents of Diyala and especially the families of the victims of this hideous attack.

The National Independent Iraqi Scholars Joined other Iraqi groups condemning the attack and called it a crime against defenseless Iraqis. The NIIS offered condolences to the PMOI, the families of the victims and Diyala residents. They stated that "we emphasize on the right of Ashraf City residents to asylum and insist that the Iraqi government must recognize this legitimate right."
