Iran’s IRGC Qods Force creates special units to confront Iraqi Awakening Councils

NCRI – The Qods Force of the Iran regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) plans to create new special units to counter the Iraqi Awakening Councils, Al-Sharqiya TV, the Iraqi TV network revealed.

"IRGC command has formed special units and has deployed new commanders in order to carry out extensive operations inside Iraq," Al-Sharqiya quoted a senior Iraqi security official on Friday.

Iraqi official who spoke on the condition of anonymity added: "The new units named ‘special battalions’ are in direct contact with Brigadier General Ghassem Sulleimani, Iran’s IRGC Commander for Qods Force and his senior deputies.

"The information obtained by the Iraqi security forces and Multi National Force in Iraq shows that these units have been trained to attack the Awakening Councils in Iraq as their main targets."

The notorious Qods Force, composed of the elite elements of the Iran regime’s IRGC for special operations abroad has been involved in planning and executing more than 400 terrorist operations, against foreign nationals and Iranian dissidents in virtually every continent over the past 27 years.
