Iranian regime’s plane to Syria stopped in Turkey

NCRI – An Iranian regime cargo plane en route to Syria has been forced to land in Turkey for inspection, security forces told AFP news agency on Sunday.

AFP said the plane landed on Saturday night on the orders of the Turkish authorities.

An inspection of the plane is on-going to check whether the aircraft has any illicit or military material on board, security sources told the news agency.

Anti-nuclear, biological and chemical material unit of civilian defence teams also took part in the inspection of the plane, Anatolia news agency reported.

AFP added that military fighter planes were on standby in case the plane refused to comply.

Turkey also forced another Syrian-bound Iranian regime plane to land in Diyarbakir last Wednesday.
