Iranian regime will never stop uranium enrichment, says influential mullahs’ lawmaker

NCRI – On Saturday December 29, Alaedin Boroujerdi, Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission in the Iranian regime’s parliament’s, reiterated that the regime will never stop uranium enrichment.

In an interview with Fars News Agency, the mouthpiece of Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Boroujerdi said “Uranium enrichment in the Islamic Republic will never stop.  This is an act and a mandate approved by parliament that the government is obliged to observe.”

Regarding the relations of the mullahs’ regime with the US and prospect of negotiation between the two countries, Boroujerdi quoted a phrase from Khomeini’s speech as saying: “Our relation with the US is the relationship between wolf and sheep.” “As long as they feel they are like a wolf who wants to plunder our national interests, there would be no ground for negotiation,” he added.

Boroujerdi is one of the main players in the mullahs’ foreign policy and in particular he advances the policies of Ali Khamenei, the regime’s Supreme Leader. He traveled to Damascus in late August to evaluate the situation in Syria. He met with Bashar al-Assad and senior Syrian officials and provided guidance to them.

In his interview, Boroujerdi pointed out the unique role of Supreme Leader in the mullahs’ regime in formulating the regime’s key policies.  Reiterating continuation of the regime’s current policy said: “Our policy is set and we will continue this course considering the political structure of the system in which main decisions maker is the Supreme Leader as the head of the system.”
