An Iranian-born Belgian man who worked for the Qods Force was sentenced by an Israeli court to seven years in prison on Tuesday for spying for the Iranian regime.

Ali Mansouri, who obtained Belgian citizenship through marriage, was arrested at Tel Aviv airport in 2013 while in possession of photographs of the US Embassy in Tel Aviv as well as other sites.

He was travelling on a Belgian passport under the name of Alex Mans and planned to pave the way for future trips by registering a company in Israel, according to the media reports.

Mansouri visited Israel three times after being recruited by a special operations unit of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards in 2012.

Ali Mansouri had also made failed attempts to infiltrate the Iranian opposition movement, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

Ali Mansouri admitted to having ties with Iranian intelligence, the prosecution noted in a statement. He admitted to spying for the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards.
The Iranian Resistance has repeatedly called for the arrest, trial, punishment and expulsion of spies and agents of the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) and Qods Force in Europe.

Anti-espionage institutions in many European countries such as Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, etc., in their annual reports, stipulate that the most important task of the MOIS abroad are activities against the PMOI (MEK) and NCRI, including to demonize them and to collect information on them.
