Iranian regime plans to target Allawi’s residence like Camp Liberty – report

NCRI – An Iraqi source has told the Arab language daily Asharq Al-Awsat on Saturday that the Iranian regime’s Quds Force plans to target house and office of former Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi with massive rockets similar to Camp Liberty.

The source in the Iraqi National Accord headed by former Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi told the daily on Saturday that “We have received reliable and precise information that there is a plan for massive rocket attacks on the house and office of Dr. Ayad Allawi, similar to the recent attack on Camp Liberty that houses the members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEk).”

According to the report, the source, who did not wish his identity be revealed for security reason, linked the rocket attack on PMOI’s Camp Liberty to a planned attack on the office and residence of Mr. Allawi and said: “A plan similar to the attack on Camp Liberty was carried out against the residence of Allawi but failed…  Because the Iraqis who carried it out did not have the technical professionalism needed for precisely hitting the targets.”

“However the precise information indicates that professionals from Iranian regime’s Quds Force have arrived in Iraq and they would oversee and carry out the operation. Therefore they could precisely target with massive rocket fire the Camp Liberty where members of Iranian opposition organization the PMOI are being held,” he said.
