Iran: State-run daily attacks planned protest against Ahmadinejad’s NY visit

Ahmadinejad go to hellNCRI – A newspaper in Iran affiliated with the mullahs’ President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has expressed worries about a scheduled protest against Ahmadinejad’s visit to New York City this month.

A large demonstration is scheduled to be held by Iranian exiles and opponents of the regime in front of the UN headquarters on September 23, where Ahmadinejad will be attending the UN General Assembly session.

The state-run daily “Iran” said the planned protest is “a scheme against Ahmadinejad’s visit to the UN.”

The daily added, “While the UN General Assembly session will be held in less than a month and our country’s president will travel to New York to attend the summit, new designs are being implemented against his presence in the US.”

The state-run daily said, “It seems that one of these schemes is to assemble a bunch of individuals in front of the UN headquarters, the hotel where the president will be staying at, and the Islamic Republic consulate in the US.”
