Iran regime launches military satellite as people grapple with financial problems

Iran regime launches military satellite – April 2020The Iranian regime’s terrorist Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) claimed on Wednesday it had sent the regime’s first military satellite into orbit. This happened while the mullahs and their apologists complain about international sanctions and lack of funds to help people amid coronavirus outbreak

In this regard on Thursday, Mike Pompeo, the United States Secretary of State, during a press briefing, while referring to the IRGC’s terrorist activities, said: The IRGC, a designated terrorist organization, launched a missile today. And I’ll leave to the Department of Defense to talk about the details about that. But when you talk about the UN Security Council Resolution 2231, I think every nation has an obligation to go to the United Nations and evaluate whether this missile launch was consistent with that Security Council resolution. I don’t think it remotely is, and I need – I think Iran needs to be held accountable for what they’ve done. They’ve now had a military organization that the United States has designated terrorists to attempt to launch a satellite.”

I hope that the Iranian regime will respond to the Iranian people’s demands to prioritize resources, resources that the Iranian regime clearly has, to the health and security and safety of the Iranian people, rather than continuing their global terror campaign. You can see they’re still hard at it. You can see they still have resources. You should note, we, the – at the very first news that the COVID-19 virus had hit Iran, offered humanitarian assistance to the people of Iran. That offer was rejected. That offer still stands. We’ve assisted other countries in delivering humanitarian assistance to the Iranian people. I only wish that the Iranian regime cared about its people as much as the rest of the world has demonstrated that it does,” he added.

The regime’s claims of having successfully sent this new satellite into orbit is highly doubted since thregime has made these bogus claims in recent months and years and has wasted billions of dollars of the national wealth yet has failed repeatedly.

Besides, launching a satellite while the Iranian people are grappling with the coronavirus once again proves this regime does not care about the Iranian people and their well-being.

According to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, Mujahedin-e Khalq, or MEK), the coronavirus has claimed nearly 34,000 lives until now due to the regime’s cover-up and inaction. Yet, the Iranian regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and its president Hassan Rouhani forced people back to work, citing Iran’s damaged economic cycle and blaming these economic hardships on U.S. sanctions.

In this regard, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), has said: For Khamenei and Rouhani, the lives and well-being of the people are worthless. They only want to protect their regime from the threat of uprising. The criminal decision to send people to work is a crime against humanity and will cause a countless number of victims.”

In other words, while Iranian people are trying to find a means for living amid the coronavirus outbreak and regime’s inaction, the regime wastes billions of dollars of the national wealth to achieve its warmongering goals.

This hollow show of power by the IRGC was also meant to control the restive Iranian society and somehow neutralize an emerging uprising. Along with its oppressive measures, the regime needs to portray its military forces as powerful and at their utmost readiness.

The regime’s recent power exhibition alone rejects all its propaganda within the last few months in framing U.S. sanctions, which do not target medications, for the ongoing coronavirus crisis in Iran.

In fact, if it wanted to, the regime, particularly Khamenei with his $90 billion empires, could help Iranian people and extend the quarantine date while financially backing the poor and purchasing medications to cure patients.

Even the regime’s own officials have been admitting to this fact that the regime has enough resources at hand to help the people. On April 9, The state-run Jomhuri – e Eslami daily, in its editorial by mullah Massih Mohajer, who has been the editor-in-chief of this newspaper since 1981, focused on this issue

Considering the economic recession caused by the coronavirus, what will the big financial institutions such as the Execution of Imam Khomeini’s Order, the Mostazafan Foundation of Islamic Revolution and Astan Quds do if they do not spend their money for the impoverished people?” read the article.

As Mrs. Maryam Rajavi has said: “The IRGC and the regime’s major financial institutions, that have plundered the Iranian people’s wealth, can pay for the expenses of workers, wage earners and the unemployed to protect them during the lockdown to protect them from contracting the COVID-19 in Iran.”
