Iran regime benefiting insecurity in Iraq

NCRI – An Iranian official said the surge of insecurity and killings in Iraq is benefiting Iranian trade exporters and openly welcomed the continuation of instability in Iraq.

The state-run daily Economic Globe cited Farhad Fozooni, the head of Iran-Iraq chamber of commerce addressing Iranian businessmen during a trade conference in Iraq saying, "Don’t wait until full security plans are implemented in that country, because the Iranian merchants will not benefit from a secure Iraq and will lose their market to the other countries.

"The insecurity in Iraq today is much more beneficial to Iranian merchants compared to those from other countries such as China, Japan and South Korea. Iranian merchants can establish a strong foot base in Iraq."

Custom’s general manager, Ebrahimi stressed that there are no restrictions and limitations imposed on Iranian trucks going through the borders. "We have instructed all provincial capitals to facilitate goods being exported to Iraq," he said.
