On September 23, IRGC Brigadier General Mohammadreza Naghdi, in an attempt to explain recent statement by the supreme leader for “heroic flexibility”, said: “What we mean by ‘heroic flexibility’ is that our negotiations with U.S. aims at annihilating Israel.”
Concurrently, Ali Larijani, speaker of the parliament (also an IRGC Brigadier General), said: “What he means by ‘heroic flexibility’ is that we change tactics, but the strategy of the system remains the same.” He added: “Surely systems’ strategy regarding the nuclear realm will never change.”
According to state dailies on September 24, Brigadier General Hossein Salami, Deputy Commander of IRGC stated: “There will be no flexibility regarding the nuclear right.”
In yet another statement, Brigadier General Massoud Jazaeri, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, stated: “U.S. cannot rid itself of its arrogance and any optimism in face of proposals and propaganda by U.S. will not be heeded to in Iran’s strategic policy.”
