Iran: Larijani threatened the US with suicide bombers

NCRI – Brig. Gen. Ali Larijani, speaker of the mullahs' Majlis (parliament) on Wednesday was quoted by the official news agency IRNA as saying, "In past two months the U.S. has attacked Pakistan which is an Islamic country. The U.S. has repeatedly attacked Pakistan in the past two months on the pretext of anti-terrorism operation, killing tens of civilians."

He said, "The soft point, both for the Zionists [Israel] and the Americans is the lack of martyrdom seekers [suicide bombers]. The U.S. is such mammoth that it can not evade the mines of those seeking martyrdom [suicide bombers]."

"The U.S. should not forget that such childish maneuvers would not go unnoticed. It will cost them dearly. It should be most careful not to run into the land mines sowed by the suicide bombers.

"History has proven time and again in recent decades that military might alone does not solve anything. Having sophisticated armaments by itself would mean nothing.

"It needs strong will to get the job done as was in the case of Martyr Mohammad Hossein Fahmideh [A thirteen-year-old boy who was pushed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards commanders to lie beneath an Iraqi tank wearing a suicide belt advancing in the southwestern city of Khorramshahr in 1981]," Larijani added.
