IRAN: IRGC’s airline defies international sanctions

An Iranian airline company that is being controlled by the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards is using a complex network which includes a small Iraqi Al-Naser Airlines as a front to defy international sanctions, according to western security officials.

According to a report by Financial Times, Western diplomats are concerned that the aircraft could be used to send weapons to conflicts in countries of the region like Yemen and Syria.

Mahan Air, second largest in Iran has been using the network to acquire nine aircraft.

Mahan Air is blacklisted by the US and Europe. According to the US Treasury Department the company in helping the regime’s terrorist Qod’s force, the extraterritorial special forces of the Revolutionary Guards responsible for carrying out terrorist activities outside Iran.
