NCRI – In an interview on Saturday October 22 with Simay-e-Azadi, the Iranian Resistance TV, Brita Haji, the President of Aleppo City Council, described the human crisis due to a continuous bombing and inhumane siege, and stressed that if the Iranian regime had not deployed its forces to Syria to help Assad, he would have been overthrown years ago.

He added: “due to the unprecedented bombings by Russia and the Assad’s regime as well as a siege by Iranian regime’s militias for over 100 days, the situation in Aleppo is catastrophic. More than 325,000 people are living in Aleppo, 60 percent of whom are women and children. 30 percent of education centers are totally closed while there are still 30 percent which hold their classes in underground shelters. But they, too, are under attack. Recently, bunker-buster missiles have been used which has led to more than 1000 martyrs, 1070 martyrs to be specific. This number has been recorded by civil defense and forensics. During the 100-day siege, more than 9000 air raids have been carried out over Aleppo. The number of casualties and those directly hit is 5190 people, 50 percent of whom are women and children.

The criminal regime (Assad) uses Iranian regime’s mercenaries for killing the Syrian people whose only sin is seeking freedom and human dignity. They help Assad kill the Syrian people in all fronts. If it weren’t for them, Assad’s regime would have been overthrown years ago. Also Russia with its airstrikes has prevented Assad from being collapsed and helped him occupy new territories. The people of Aleppo are resistant, the Syrian people are resistant and with the help of God the revolution will prevail and history is not going to have mercy on those who bowed to a criminal regime.”
