Fearful of uprisings, IRGC to set up another base in Tehran

NCRI – Fearful of uprisings against the regime, the commander-in-chief of the regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the establishment of a new corps in Tehran province.

According to the state-run newspaper Jomhouri on Sunday, Mohammad-Ali Jafari attended the opening of a new location for the Seyyed-o-Shohada Corps.

He was also quoted as saying, “A new corps has been established in Tehran province called Emam Hossein. The Seyyed-o-Shohada Corps will remain in its old location after Alborz province is annexed from Tehran province.”

According to Jafari, the command of the IRGC in Tehran province is located in Rey for its proximity to other cities and major towns in Tehran province as well as to the center of capital Tehran.
