Criticism of Ahmadinejad in Majlis results in heavy losses

NCRI – A member of the Iranian regime’s Majlis (Parliament) has revealed that Majlis deputies refuse to criticizing the mullahs’ President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for fear of losing their livelihood.

Ali Motahari told the state-run Alef in response to a question about the role of Majlis with respect Ahmadinejad’s government, that, “The major difficulty of the eighth round of Majlis is lack of morale and existence of fear.”

“If a member talks in the context of his legal duties and seriously criticizes the government, he will be immediately pressured by the governor or director of the electoral constituency. Sometimes, his office would be attacked.”

Referring to the intimidation and threats by Ahmadinejad’s government, he said, “During the campaign to solicit signatures to ask questions from the president, many members were saying that they agree with the motion but they will not support it because doing so would deprive them of their livelihood.”
