Circles close to Maliki help Inmates escape from Iraqi jails

NCRI – Institutions affiliated with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki have helped a convict charged with multiple murders to escape a prison, Iraq’s al-Rafedin TV reported on Monday.

The prisoner, Heydar Hamideh, who was being held at Iraq’s Taji prison, had been charged with 120 offenses. The prison warden Saad Sawar reportedly implemented the order to help him escape.

Separately, al-Rafedin reported that Brigadier General Ali Fazel Omran, who commands the 54th special brigade guarding the Green Zone, and who has close ties with Maliki, has escaped to Iran.

According to the report, Maliki facilitated the escape because Omran was involved in helping 12 prisoners escape Basra’s central prison and also had a hand in the attack on the headquarters of the organ responsible for fighting terrorism at the Interior Ministry.

Omran has been called one of the agents of the Qods Force of the Iranian regime in Iraq, according to al-Rafedin.
