Ahmadinejad’s absence and growing conflicts with Khamenei

NCRI – After a week of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s absence from cabinet meetings, a member of the regime’s Majlis (Parliament) told a media outlet that the Ahmadinejad team is planning to confront the mullahs’ Supreme Leader.

According to al-Arabiya on Friday, Parviz Sarvari, a member of the Majlis Security Committee, said, “Before defeating the Fundamentalist faction, the Ahmadinejad team plans to confront and defeat the Supreme Leader.

This team does not shy away from using all means and funds of the nation, which has worried the Majlis.”

Some state-run media sources close to Ahmadinejad have also said he has agreed to a televised interview only if it is broadcast live.

Other reports say that during a meeting with Ali Khamenei, the mullahs’ Supreme Leader, Ahmadinejad has said his return to the government would be contingent on the dismissal of the Intelligence Minister, the Secretary of the National Security Council, Saeed Jalili, and Interior Minister Mostafa Najjar.
