Tehran facing water rationing as dam levels drop

NCRI – Tehran water authorities have warned residents that supplies may be restricted due to a dramatic lack of rain and mismanagement.

Some eastern districts of Iranian capital experienced shortages and cut-offs this summer as the five dams supplying the city fell to low levels.

Official reports calculate the average water consumption in Tehran at about three million cubic meters per day, and with each 0.5 to 1 degree rise in the temperature the consumption increases by another 100,000 cubic meters in the city.

Some experts predict that most of Iranian cities would face water shortage due to mismanagement of water storage and consumption by the regime.
