Quake in Southern Iran Kills 1, Injures 30

The Iranian regime’s state-run TV says a magnitude 5.5 earthquake has killed one person and injured 30 in a small town in southern Iran.

It says the quake struck early Thursday morning in the town of Bastak, about 1,200 kilometers (750 miles) south of the capital, Tehran.

It says many of the town buildings were damaged.

One report said 40 to 50 percent of residential buildings have been damaged.

There is not enough tent to provided to the people whose homes have been damaged, one report said.
