Price of bread jumps as a result of government policies; people’s ever-increasing discontent heightens

NCRI – State-run Mehr news agency reported on April 27 that the bread’s price hike resulted from the second implementation phase of the policy of eliminating subsidies, has heightened people’s ever-increasing discontent.

Admitting the insignificance of the current subsidies, Mehr added: The subsidy that the government pays for bread each month is $1, which is the price of 10 loaves of brown bread per month.

According to Mehr, the government has only ratified the price of simple bread, and the bakers, in tandem with price hikes in the second phase, have increased the price of seeded bread as well in such a way that a loaf of simple brown bread is 50 cents and a loaf of seeded brown bread is 60 cents. Now, many people cannot afford buying their needed bread each month. In the meantime, the mullahs’ regime tries to put the blame on the hardworking bakers.
