Preventing Workers Day meeting by police in the city of Sanandaj

NCRI – According to HRANA web site, at the invitation of the Iranian Free Labor Union and the coordinating committee for creation of workers organizations, more than 200 workers in the city of Sanandaj attempted to attend an organizing meeting on April 29th that was scheduled to be held in the Haft-Aseeyab area of Sanandaj, but they were faced with huge presence of the police  who were there prior to their arrival.

 

According to the reports by the Free Labor Union, after the people reached Haft-Aseeyab, police gave workerss a warning against holding any kind of meeting whatsoever and told them to leave the area immediately. The workers present at the scene started a fire, danced, and distributed sweets and cookies and then left the area.
 
report Added, police stayed with them until the Gas Circle and took pictures of all those present.

The Iranian Free Labor Union considers the right to commemorate the international workers day an alienable right of workers and strongly condemns any obstacles for stopping the workers to celebrate that day.
