Iran: Youth clash with State Security Forces

Angry youth clashed with the Iranian regime’s State Security Forces as they tried to body search those entering Tehran’s Azadi stadium to watch a football match on Friday.

The spectators ridiculed a number of clerics that had tried to give speeches prior to the start of the game. People’s protest forced the clerics to leave the stadium.

These incidents follow a number of clashes between youth and State Security Forces and clerics in other cities across the country.

On January 7, a furious youth in the northwestern city of Marand beat up the former head of regime’s Friday Prayer Leader in this city. The cleric was hospitalized.

Another cleric was shot dead by the youths in the city of Boroujen on Sunday, January 5.

On January 3, several youths also clashed with the security forces at a checkpoint in Tehran that had stopped a vehicle on bogus charges of improper veiling and tried to arrest them.
