Iran- The number of drug addicts in Iran has soared to two million people

The number of drug addicts in Iran has soared to two million people, and the number of alcoholics has hit 200,000, the latest damning statistics revealed by the regime.

The kinds of drugs being taken are also stronger and more dangerous, according to a report by the State Security Forces (SSF).

SSF head Ismail Ahmadi Moqadam in an interview with state run TV, Jame Jam said: “Industrial drugs are being manufactured in kitchens in Tehran and Islamshahr. “Drugs have also recently begun to be manufactured in West Azerbaijan.”

He also admited that a highly dangerous new drug named Shisheh – meaning glass – has also now become the send most popular drug amongst addicts in Iran, also said that there has been a massive increase on Shisheh abuse in the past six years.

Head of regimes SSF added: “Currently, the average age people start taking drugs is 21.  Six months ago, the average was between 23 and 24 years of age.  This suggests that within two of three years the average age to start taking drugs will be teenage.”

It is well known that the regime’s Revolutionary Guards allow tonnes of drugs to enter the country and reach young people, in a bid to subdue them into having no desire to rebel.

But hypocritically, state officials also use rigid anti-drugs law to frame, persecute and execute political insurgents.

In a separate report, ISNA state run news agency has revealed the result of a survey carried by the Coroner Organization which showed deaths due to alcoholism in Iran has doubled over the past seven years to 102 people this year.
