Iran: Tehran’s pollution is helping the spread of ‘cancer tsunami’ in Iran

NCRI – Iran is suffering a ‘tsunami of cancer’ with 30,000 people a year now dying of the disease, a leading medical official of the Iranian regime has declared.

Widespread pollution combined with the psychological pressures of life in the regime have both been blamed for the soaring cancer statistics. Abdullah Fazl-alizadeh, head of the Cancer Association of Iran, said polluted air in Tehran is one of the causes for cancer.

“There are poisonous substances in Tehran’s air that cause diseases and in the long run will cause cancer.”

The disease is the third cause of premature death in Iran, with rates of gastrointestinal cancers particularly high.

Other officials have blamed the rise in cancer on the excessive use of chemical fertilizers containing cadmium and nitrate.

Medical experts have also said the psychological and mental pressures at the workplace and in daily life also play an important role in the spread of this disease.
